Ahmedabad

Located on the banks of river Sabarmati, Ahmedabad is the biggest city in the state. Earlier it was capital of Gujarat. later on, the capital was shifted to the Gandjhinagar. Ahmedabad is the hub of trade and commerce in Gujarat. The commercial importance of Ahmedabad makes the city an important travel destination in India. Besides being home to a number of important industries, Ahmedabad also has a number of majestic monuments, which remind us of the great historical and cultural past of the city.

NH 8 (Delhi -Mumbai), passes though Ahmedabad and it covers Naroda Industrial area,Kuber Nagar, Bapunagar, Industrial area of Vatwa,Isanpur, Vejalpur and through Surat it connects to Mumbai, The link of NH 8 (NH8C) connects Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar. It passes through Prahlad nagar,Sarkhej, Ashok Vatika, Bodakdav, shallj & Gota .

It is connected to Vadodara through National Expressway 1, This expressway is part of the Golden Quadrilateral project.

Local transportation in city is connected by Janmarg is BRT ( Bus Rapid Transit) system in the city. It is operated by Ahmedabad Muncipal Corporation.it connects major areas in the city & towns nearby.
The mass-transit metro system, under construction are expected to complete by 2019. It connects through (city centre –Motera) stadium by passing Usmanpura,Vadaj,and Sabarmati,(City centre – Thaltej Gam) by passing commerce six road,gujrath university, & doordarshan Kendra.( city centre – APMC)Gandhidham, Madalpur,paldi, & Anjali.( city centre – Vastral) Shahpur,Amralwadi & Rabari colony.
